If you think salmon is fiddly, this air fryer salmon will change your mind. Hot, fast air gives you flaky, tender fish with lightly crisp edges in under 15 minutes — no flipping a delicate fillet in a hot pan, no fishy-smelling kitchen.

It’s our go-to quick dinner: a couple of pantry spices, a squeeze of lemon, and you’re done.

Tips for the best air fryer salmon

Pat the fillets really dry so they crisp rather than steam, and don’t overcook — pull the salmon as soon as it flakes and reaches a safe internal temperature of 63°C (145°F). Skin-on fillets hold together best in the basket.

    Dry and oil the salmon

    Pat the salmon fillets completely dry and brush all over with the olive oil.

    Mix the garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper, then rub the seasoning over the fillets.

    Preheat the air fryer

    Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).

    Place the salmon skin-side down in a single layer and air fry at 200°C (400°F) for 8–10 minutes, until it flakes easily and reaches 63°C (145°F) inside.
